Pass Plus is a national scheme that enables newly qualified car drivers to gain more experience and skills that would not have been available or necessary before the driving test.

Pass Plus is a six module training syllabus designed by the DSA to develop the skills and knowledge of newly qualified drivers and broaden their driving experience.

The six modules cover:

- Town driving
- All weather driving
- Out of town driving and rural roads
- Night driving
- Dual carriageways
- Motorways

The course is a minimum of six hours and on completion of the course a certificate will be awarded which will entitle the holder to discounts with insurance companies who take part in the scheme.

Pass Plus is highly recommended as new drivers who take part are less likely to be involved in a crash and if they are involved in a crash are less likely to be at fault.

Pass Plus is also good for new drivers who are nervous on their own as the new skills and knowledge gained will help them to be more confident.

There is no test at the end of Pass Plus. It is a competency based training scheme that is evaluated by the instructor.

Pass Plus courses are to be taken in Pulse’s dual controlled cars.

Pulse Driver Training can offer some extra training on our airfield to enhance the Pass Plus course. This extra training will cover how a car behaves in high speed emergency situations, car dynamics and car safety systems. The extra training will provide new drivers with knowledge that will help to keep them even safer on the roads.
